What you are saying is you want cheep health care. What is cheeper than paying Ten percent of you check thats is way cheeper then the thounsands many people pay ever year. this also means the more you make the more it is so You still have more money to play with.
Europe has a lower crime rate in part to the people not having to worry about money. Yes they may have to pay more taxes but it comes out that they pay less than we do for health care. Now saying this would you like to pay less for better health care or pay more for not as good health care.
