Everyone does need it, but I guess that takes count in the American Dream. You'd think Universal Health care is free too, and that our national expenses will stay unchanged, and everything will remain constant, but they're not going to.

The United States was based on the principle of being different. The point of the Pilgrims traveling to America in 1620 was to be independent from anything European based. It was a point made at the beginning of American history. Healthcare will only create more issues in the long run. It only seems like an easy out right now, because it is.

If Universal health care is run by the government, many people who don't know what to do with it, would have it, and people couldn't choose the practitioners they want. The quality of procedures might be less than expected if they payed themselves. People couldn't get treated when they wanted, they would have to be on a specific schedule according to the physician and everyone in the area. Those who take care of themselves now will then have to pay for themselves AND others. Those who promote Universal hhealth care it might say that it's free, but nothing is “free” and we would be paying for it through taxes and making spending cuts for things like schooling and defense. If we all are forced to have health care now, while in a recession, I don't think we could afford it. We are already in over 12 trillion dollars of debt, it's hard to grasp a vast monetary increment. Our great grand children will still be paying off the debt.

Universal healthcare isn't going to occur overnight either.
